A special thank you note

Thank you for 30 years
Thank you for 30 years

It’s been 30 years since John, Emile & Jan sat together and planted the seed to what is today the oldest and arguably the jolliest group Aruba has ever known. For this reason we have a lot to give thanks to a lot of people. We would like to thank all Los Laga Bai volunteers, personnel, entities, sponsors, band members and anyone else who in some way or another helped us put this big party on the road for the last 30 years in a row.

Los Laga Bai is blessed to have a huge group of people and companies who look forward to this time of the year when they contribute to this carnival group. We are talking here about our registration crew at Centro Kibrahacha, the same people who register all the participants at the beginning of the parades, our technical team who makes sure our bar and band trailer is in good shape for the parades, bartenders both in our main bar and the two small bars in the back, the other volunteers before and during the parade who help prepare the bar for the parade, Romar Trading (Heineken) staff (Ramon Becker, Tirso Tromp) for all the logistical support, other helpers from Romar Trading who help us during the parades, photographers for the group, and many more. We would like to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.

Also, we would like to thank our Peace Officers who have done a good job keeping our participants safe. The Heineken girls and guys who made sure our participants were well supplied with drinks during all the parades. Piratest Nest staff at Bucuti (Kurt Hoffman and his staff) who prepared a fantastic buffet for all the hungry Los Laga Bai participants Sunday night.

And who can image a Los Laga Bai without: “Hala un banda,…ta Solo Banda!!!” Robert Jeand’or & Solo Banda Show put up a great performance once again during all the parades which helped Los Laga Bai once again take home both “Ambiente” prizes in San Nicolas and Oranjestad. We can’t wait what they will have in store for us next year when Robert celebrates his 20th year entertaining the participants of Los Laga Bai.

Of course, all of this would not have been possible without the help and financial support of our loyal parade sponsors: Romar Trading (Heineken), Albo & Arubaanse Wegenbouw, A-one contractor, Wema and CMB. We are very grateful for your support and loyalty. We hope we count on you for many more years.

And last but not least, we must say “Thank You” to all our 410 participants who have celebrated together with us this great carnival season. We would especially like to thank those of you who have put all your creativity into creating amazing headpiece designs which helped us achieve the first time ever “Creativity Award” for both parades. This award is completely due to all of you for which we thank you.

We would also like to send special thanks to Exina Kock, our own Mrs. Carnival for participating with Los Laga Bai during her reign as Mrs. Carnival.
