Carnival 59 is over and that means we are busy cleaning up and looking back at a very successful carnival season. This is also the time to say thanks to all the Los Laga Bai volunteers, personnel, entities, sponsors, band members and anyone else who in some way or another helped us put this big party on the road for the 31st year in a row.

Los Laga Bai is blessed to have a huge group of people who look forward to this time of the year when they contribute to this carnival group. They don’t only contribute but most of them also participate in the group with the best “ambiente” in Aruba. That is why they keep coming every year. We are talking here about our registration crew at Centro Kibrahacha, the same people who register all the participants at the beginning of the parades, our technical team who makes sure our bar and band trailer are in good shape for the parades, bartenders both in our main bar and the two small bars in the back, the other volunteers before and during the parade who help prepare the bar for the parade, Romar Trading (Heineken) staff (Ramon Becker, Tirso Tromp) for all the logistic support, photographers for the group, and many more. We would like to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.

A special thanks goes to Albert Odor who helped us for many years at the cunucu with his technical expertise. And also to Bryan Nemecek who joined our cunucu team this year. We hope he will stick around for a long time.

Also, we would like to thank our Peace Officers who have done a good job keeping our participants safe. The LLB girls and guys (sponsored by Mr. Froyo’s Frozen Jogurt) who made sure our participants were well supplied with drinks during all the parades. Piratest Nest staff at Bucuti (Kurt Hoffman and his staff) who put a great meal together for all the hungry Los Laga Bai participants Sunday night.

Thanks to Louise Rafael-Croes for her inspiration and winning design for this year’s costume.

And who can image a Los Laga Bai without: “Hala un banda,…ta Solo Banda!!!” Robert Jeand’or & Solo Banda Show celebrated their 20th anniversary playing for Los Laga Bai. Congratulations and thanks to Robert Jeand’or and his band members. Thanks also to Bencho Giel, the person in charge of the sound system on the band trailer.

Ofcourse, all of this would not have been possible without the help and financial support of our loyal parade sponsors: Romar Trading, Albo, Arubaanse Wegenbouw, CMB, Wema, Manrique Capriles (Nuetrogena), Aruba Lottery and Interport Logistics. We hope to continue this cooperation for many years to come.

And last but not least, we must say “Thank You” to all our 395 participants who have celebrated together with us this great carnival season.

We hope that we have not forgotten anyone.
